Ok, I mounted and hooked up my new Yeasu 8800R. It receives fine. But for the life of me, I don't think it's transmitting anything. I've got my HT right next to it, and I hear nothing. But when I key the HT, I definitely hear it on the mobile. Also, I know basically how to SWR test my CB, but I don't have any idea how to do it on a HAM. Anyone want to give me some tips?

Thanks!

Process for your new Ham rig is exactly the same, but you may not be able to use the same meter you use for CB. The SWR meter must be rated for the frequency you are transmitting on. That said, set your radio to a power level of at least 5 watts and set the meter to calc. Key down, identify, and zero the meter. Release, switch the meter to FWD, and rekey to read the SWR.
