Re: Hodges Fj

Wheeltoberfest 2010. This was an amazing weekend in Marble Falls, TX. We drove in to Austin on Thursday night, and camped out Friday and Saturday. Met a lot of awesome people, saw a lot of awesome trucks, drank a lot of beer, and wheeled a lot of trails. Can't wait for the next one.

thanks buddy. yeah I love the OME lift. I thought after adding the demello bumper it was going to sag in the front but it didn't at all. and youll be fine with a stock bumper. just depending on what you want to do with your truck. i got the demello cause it adds tons of clearance and looks a lot better in my opinion. but yeah..i just ordered the basic OME setup. medium - front and rear. it comes with (4) shocks and (4) struts. it rides awesome.

TRDparts4u up in Dallas. Great prices and will set you up with everything you need. Give em a call and ask for Jacque. Tell him i sent ya his way and see what the FJ forum discount would be on a suspension. They can probably get you a deal.

Hodges, fun night man! Can't wait to go wheeling at the Jamboree!

Tonight looks kind of bad for me with work. But i will be done tonight so tomorrow is open. We can go get a little muddy tomorrow, i am down. Maybe just after dark? like 6pm or so (or anytime later is fine with me)

Those pictures are great Jason! haha fun times.

And i think Chris and i might caravan together around 7-730 am in the morning. Try to arrive when the gates open around noon-ish.

I'll see if I can away tomorrow. I"ve been hunting the past two days. We did get to do quite alot of wheeling on the way and after. Loving the tires we just crept though everything. If I get on the gas it will get a little sideways, but if i just stay slow and steady even in the slopiest stuff it just tracks strait on through. I did notice it does take some serious effort to get out of an existing rut though. Hodges, we're hoping to leave before 8 on thursday morning.

Are you running in 4LO with the rear locker on?

I would be using that (without A-TRAC) in mud. Also if already in a rut, turning the wheel left and right allows the big lugs to grab the side of the ruts.

Great pictures! I have the Nitto TG MTs as well and I was wondering how they worked out for you at Jambo? I have never really put them in anything that sloppy yet and I am curious about how well they will do. Great looking truck by the way. Silver is still my favorite.

Thanks man. Yeah the nittos did really well at Jambo in all the mud. We ran most of the 3 and 4 rated trails and I only had to use my tow strap once. And that was just from trouble getting up a steep wet/muddy rock and me not wanting to break anything. Layton pulled me up with the land cruiser. If you're ever in br let us know well go grab a beer or hit a trail.

Good to hear about the tires, and I will take you up on the offer to go grab a beer. My folks have a place on the False river so I usually pass through BR a few times a year when the weather warms up. I will shoot you a PM next time I am headed over that way. I am looking forward to Jambo next year and I hate that I couldn't get away for it this time. My wife should be getting a new car in the next month or two and hopefully then I will be able to start doing some of the mods that I had to put on hold due to it being her daily driver.
