Trying to change out some bulbs for brighter leds. Can anyone tell me how to get to the bulbs for the side mirror lights and if it is worth the effort to put led's in them?

There are threads on this site and youtube vids on how to stick a screwdriver up behind the mirror from the bottom center to remove the glass.
The light socket simply twists out then. I just installed the brighest amber lights from DD, only takes a few minutes. They are a 194 base.

It’s easy and hard.... the mirror clips in at the bottom and hooks in at the top. The theory is easy... tilt the mirror all the way up so the bottom sticks out. Pull outward to release the clips and that’s it. BUT if they’ve never been off before they are very very tight and you think they will break. If you warm it all up then it is very much easier and the only way I could actually manage to do it. You have to still pull hard.

Remove the blue disc's while you're in there. Worth the effort. Amber LED's from supporting vendor Diode Dynamics. :grin
How exactly did you dig out the blue disc? My only idea was to dig around with a Phillips head screwdriver and try to pry it out but don’t want to scratch that plastic lens

Just did this procedure, all 4 backside mirror upper tabs were in tact, they have never been changed , its a 2007. Of note, most LED bulbs are directional in the socket, test them before you button it back up, if one isn’t working , pull out, rotate 180, install. Should work. Internal blue reflective flat lense, its tough plastic, , so best way i found was to get a dental pict or sharp long pier, and poke a hole in the middle of it. Trust me , it’s flat , sitting in a concave hole(plastic lens cover you can touch from the outside of the mirror) so poke the hole and just keep poking holes in a line from the middle outward to the edge until it breaks, then with then i used the same pick to pull an edge toward the hole your working through. Grab edge with a pair of needle nose pliers and go to town, it will break and seperate but no big deal, you can fish it out to the edge and grab the rest until its all gone.

The 2 top tabs in on the mirror back are very fragile, dont worry if you break them, the mirror will still snap back into place and be strong...

Green LED side mirrors & license plate lights. I've yet to cover light bar with green protection flim, soon Green LED lights all around. I thought I'd break the mirror pulling off so I had to get someone with smaller hands.
