Manual vs automatic, never/lightly/heavily offroaded? Depends on the life it's lived so far.

I've seen upper control arms start to go on 85K mile trucks that were offroaded heavily, and then I've seen 300K mile 4Runners on their original clutch.

You did well in buying an '08, all first-year vehicles (even my Lexus LS460) have problems in their first year and the '07 FJ was no exception.

Long story short: unless the truck was abused, you're probably good to 150K or so with zero issues besides scheduled maintenance. After that it's likely to be suspension components more than engine/transmission.

I've recently replaced my front wheel bearing, lower ball joints, and rear rear axle seal. All within the last 2k miles, my 07 fj has 100k on the odo, lightly offloaded, 2inch ome lift kit, stock size tires.

I beg to differ with you on your 2007 comment, at least for me and many other 2007 owners. I have just rolled to 100,000 on mine and have not had one single issue. Aside from the standard maintenance, it runs like a champ. Any other vehicle with 100,000 would be subject to squeaks, rattles, rumbles, breaks, etc. but not a lot of 2007 FJ's.

I was talking to a friend this weekend and I was telling him that by maintaining and treating it like a 100,000 vehicle, I should be able to at least double that.

Hey, the way I look at it is that 100,000 is just the FJ break-in period

My 4 runner had 260,000 well cared for miles when I traded it in. Ran all maintenance as recommended, and oil every 3-5K. I expect my FJ will do at least as good!

Early 2007 here just shy of 100K, only non routine maintance was a replaced water pump.

Still on the original brakes have at least 55% left on those.

There are members here who have 300K+ on their rigs. If it has been well maintained and not abused you should have a good number of miles left on it.

I have a 2007 with 110,000 miles. Original brakes and batteries still work fine. My only complaint is about the paint quality but that could also be from rubbing against branches and limbs. I have replaced my windshield but that does' t count. That goes with the territory when you drive a vehicle with the aerodynamics of a brick on wheels. My goal is another 140,000 miles.

2007, bought in Dec '06. 93,000 miles, mild off roading. Other than periodic maintenance, a leaking brake caliper was the only thing I've had go wrong

Good to hear folks have good experiences with the 2007's. I just bought one with 104k on it. The dealer did some work on it but no leaks and not sloppy at all. Whatever it has planned for me can't be worse than a US$800 replacement DVD player for a Honda Odyssey.

I have an '07 with 119K+ miles on it. Aside from PM, I've had to replace my lower rear links, radiator and a/c condensor due to trail damage. Even then, my rig got me back out to the trail head. FJCs are a good rig.

07' MT6 with 127k here with a 3 inch lift/285 Nitto's. Still have the original battery (should replace soon), one CV, idler pulley's and the rear pinion bearings. Pretty sure I will keep this thing forever now that they don't sell them anymore. It's my daily driver 65 miles a day and I love it!

I'm a part time car sealer and looked on nationwide auction lists when searching for an FJ. I as really surprised to see several with over 320,000 on them, still in clean condition.
