Just got back from a run to Barnwell Mountain Recreational Area in east Texas with the older (16-18 year-old) Boy Scouts in #3 son's troop. We had my FJC, a pretty stock Jeep with open diffs and a stock Taco and a stock Ford Ranger, both with open diffs. All the boys got to drive all the different trucks. and take turns spotting and scouting trails. Several of the boys had never driven a 4WD before, and only my #3 son Ross had done any real wheeling before. We prepared several months ahead of time by having classes on 4WD safety, theory, application, and etc. including watching Bill Burke's videos more than once. They were all pretty excited and had a great time. The weather was good the first day but then it rained off and on after that and the 2 and 3-rated trails they were running turned into 3's and 4's with the magic addition of water-slick clay to a steep hill. But it turned out well because they got to practice spotting, wheeling, and recovery in the rain (builds character! :bandit:). No damage to any of the trucks and everyone was safe.

Didn't have time to take many pictures but here are a few:

We had to winch all the other three trucks up this slick hill with the FJC. The boys (and the other truck's owners) were amazed at how easily the FJC could handle situations that the un-locked trucks could not.
