Second time around. I bought a new Corolla in 05 to replace my 87 Silverado as a DD. Ended up throwing on a rear receiver and buying a Harbor Freight trailer for it so I could haul my Polaris Scrambler with it. 35+ mpg standard driving, 24 mpg towing. Gave it up when my wife wanted her own ATV. Needed something bigger to tow both.

Yep, it is my first Toyota! Probably not my last. It looks like I might be stationed overseas within 6-12 months and I may have to sell the truck. (INSERT SAD FACE) Low miles and in great shape. I guess when I get back I can get another Toyota.

Feel right at home in the FJ.. However my first time driving one felt strange. I felt really far away from the windshield.

1. 1994 Ford Ranger
No space in this thing.. Single cab and manual transmission. Fit 2.5 people.

2. 1995 Toyota Tacoma
Great pickup, seemed to have a way taller stance than the non 4x4 Tacomas. Extra Cab. This was the first year the Tacoma was offered. Seats in the back were terrible though, they just folded down.

3. 2013 Toyota FJ Cruiser
The controls are nearly exactly the same as my Tacoma. Guess not much changed in the nearly 20 year gap. The 4x4 shifter was in a more accessible spot though, directly to the left of the transmission shifter.

Loved FJ from HS, but never got one.

Couldn't justify a FJ because I've been in sales for years and needed to drive economical cars

1974 Chevy Blazer (full removal top) blew the motor - sold for
1989 Honda Civic hatchback - sold for
1989 Isuzu 4x4 pick up (great truck) - sold for
1992 Ford Explore Limited - sold for
1997 Nissan Altima (boring) - sold for
1999 Ford Expedition (Family car) - Still have just, just gave to my 16 yr son
2001 Volkswagen Golf 1.8T - sold for
2003 Toyota Matrix (great grandma car) - sold for
2007 Audi A3 3.2L Quattro - Wife is driving it
2013 Toyota FJ Cruiser TT - All mine, keeping it for ever!

I always wanted one but waited to get the 2013 TT because of the Cement Gray! We're in love now.

The FJ is my 12th vehicle and second Toyota.

1992 MR2 Coupe (European model) in white with blue interior. Completely underpowered and completely unruly in the often wet British weather. Owned between 2005-2006.
2013 FJ TT. Picked up yesterday.

The FJ is my first Toyota. My husband is a Toyota man, though. I consider myself a Nissan gal, so now he thinks I have finally "seen the light". That makes me want to hate it, but I'm loving it more every day. In 3 weeks I've put almost 4000 miles on it. My vehicles:

1986 Datsan 200sx (5spd)
2002 Ford F150 (5spd)
2004 Ford F150 (5spd)
2005 Ford Explorer (Auto)
2007 Nissan Frontier (6spd)
2008 Nissan Frontier (Auto)
2008 Toyota FJ Cruiser (6spd)

I have never hung on to an auto for long. The explorer I had for less than 2 years. Between the auto transmission, crappy suspension and mod options, and making me feel like a soccer mom, I hated it. When I started looking for another truck my main contenders were the Frontier and Tacoma, and I'm glad with my choice of the Frontier after driving my husband's Tacoma (I met him a couple years after getting the Frontier). His Tacoma made me leery of ever driving a Toyota, as there are many things about it that I don't like or that I've preferred in Nissan. The FJ has been a pleasant surprise though. I love all the features I was able to get with a manual transmission, and I am not as sad about losing my Frontier as I thought I would be.
