No, the FJ is not a Hummer,,,. look what a surprise for the Hummer owners or future buyers have;;; At least their smart enough to chase the Rubicon market share.
Hummer Guy » Front locker on tap for 2009 HUMMER H3
Earlier this year HUMMER announced the addition of the locking front differential option to the HUMMER H3T which begins production later this year. Now we have confirmation that the 2009 HUMMER H3 SUV will also have an available front locker. Off-road enthusiasts rejoice!

The H3 comes with 4.10 gears and 4:1 transfer case...and if you get the Alpha, you also get V8 monster torque. What kind of better gears are you talking about???

Don't forget it's getting F&R Locker for 09. I think they have put their heads together & read some forums, no better place to learn what the customer wants. Very competitive with all that to the Rubi Package, but still lacking SFA, 44's F & R, Removable Doors, Folded Windshield, & Open Air top off. But I think they'll dip into the hardcore offroad group pretty well.
A chosen few on here intalled a front locker,..at that point the FJ would crawl up a Rock like a Spider, maybe an option for Toyota to offer in very near future & a 4:1 transfer case.

Hey, They just ran them fine up Escalator, Hells Gate, Golden Spike, etc etc, a few week ago with the F&R Locker version, and didn't break a Front Diff, the diffs did fine with the stronger housing. I did hear where a few exploded though elsewhere........
It's a Humma

So I guess this will be a rock crawling only list.

I'm pretty sure torque would help in mud, snow and hill climbs. Weight also affects a rigs performance in those situations, more than it does in rock crawling. So is it safe to say the FJ is more likely to be better in mud, snow and hill climbs? at least an FJ with 285s. although even with 1in smaller diameter tires, the stock FJ would prob still beat the H3.

I'm gonna just rank the list of advantages in order of significance.
H3 has better gears.
FJ is 10% lighter (4700/4300)
FJ can use atrac+locker (theres no hack for the h3?)H3 might have slightly better suspension. (6%: 520/490)
FJ has a better breakover angle
H3 has better approach and departure angles
FJ has lower center of gravity
Don't need a Hack with front & rear Locker & a 4:1 T-case...end of story.
The Fj will be hard pressed to beat that..Very Hard Pressed.

i've heard " that looks like a hummer " and " is that a new hummer " but by far what bothers me the most is.. " nice jeep " tsk tsk tsk not just the fact the it is definitely not a jeep. but also that the person doesn't notice the almost exact same styling of every single jeep thats out there. (i'm not a jeep hater btw)
They are just blind,...to them everything is a Jeep if it has aggressive tires....Just print some copies of this, tell them to study the picture for a week and say JEEP 1000 times & you'll meet them back here in a week for a visual test.
