Just wanted to share pics of my Hi-Lift & how I managed to find a way to lock it. What I did was I picked up a pair of Demello Offroad mounts, I think a pair of 1/2 inch nuts :rawr: , and a Master Spare Tire Lock. I also have a dedicated stubby wrench to take the nuts off.

End result... no extra cables on the roof, ends up being clean and simple, less worry about theft.

Well here are iPhone pics of them nuts and master lock:wave:

I had to use one nut to act as a spacer so the lock sits properly... the front mounts just use the regular butterfly nuts.

Here it is with the Master lock over them nuts.

Good idea....I had custom length rubber coated cables made so I could key every thing alike. But your idea is much cleaner looking : ) if you ever get a shovel and axe mount I suggest looking at hese pics to figure it out...really think your on too some thing good here...much better then my solution:

High lift -

Axe (poped a hole in the axe head with a cutting torch) -

Shovel -

You can't beat the high lift mount lock you did.....I wonder if a lock shop could key the tumblers alike and how we could apply them to a axe & shovel mount...hmmmmm :). Mine do not make sounds but you can get the leverage with a bar to try to bend them...doubt one would be able to, but they would mess the rack up in the process. Really the OEM rack is the weak link....its very...very flimsy. However your idea looks so smooth & clean I just think torch cutting when I use a criminal mind set. Uhhhh....I hate thieves.

Where did you pick up the spare tire lock?
Got the master lock from Pep Boys... it's just a spare tire lock
Great idea! Does that metal piece come with the lock? Wonder if this method with work with Four Treks mounts?
