Ok, I found the thread here.

The total additional weight is 40 pounds (4 layers thick), hardly what I would call substantial. If I had the money to Line-X my whole rig I would do it in a heartbeat without any further thought of an additional 40 lbs.
Sorry, I thought it was something around 100 lbs... my bad.

As far as I know, no one has heard from that girl since she did the line-x. I wonder how it is holding up... if she is happy with it. Other than fading, I would worry about the hood trapping in extra heat due to the insulating property of the line-x.

Looks awesome! I was told you couldn't line-x plastic parts... only metal. Is it a special plastic formula or was I fed a line of crap? Also, did you get a UV coating on the exterior parts? I know that line-x will fade considerably if not protected. I'd like to do it to the plastic trim on the doors.
Its the same formula, you can do the plastic, its just not guaranteed like the metal is. Trust me though its put on with high pressure and heat so its gonna more than likely stick....mine is doiing fine so far.....good luck and post pics ok

Same question here.

Does the door trim seal still "behave" and act as it should?

A.W.D.
I havent been in deep water with it, but driving in heavy rain, etc. i cant tell any difference. I would think it should seall better since the linex is about 1/4" thick making the rubber seal sit tighter against it. The linex is textured, but rubbery i dont think this will be an issue, just my own opinion.

You never said if it has the UV protective coating. I don't have first hand knowledge, but the word on the street is that it will fade badly without the coating.
it doesnt have a uv protectant, however if it fades on the bumper pieces linex can apply something to it to bring the color back so im told. im not worried about the sills since they wont be exposed to the direct sun. i had my gmc pickup bedliner sprayed with linex in 2001 and yes it has faded slightly, but it still looks great its, still very dark black just not glossy looking like when its first applied. i never took care of it like i should have either(washed it) im not worried about it at all since i know what its gonna look like later.

I did my sliders last summer I had them done in Sun Fusion with Ameraguard. It has a uv coating on it and has a warranty against fading. I asked about doing the mirrors and bumper wings, was told it would be no problem but with the mirrors you would lose the ability to fold them in or move the housing around due to the coating.

Good to hear that fading isn't a big problem and a UV coating is available. I'm planing on dong my front and rear bumpers once the powdercoat is shot to hell. Already seeing rust spots on the welds and edges of the FabFours front and WARN rear bumpers. I've been spot treating with rust converter and that is working for now, but eventually i'll just get it Line-x'd.
