Often when I am at a stop and let my foot off the brake, my FJ lurches/jumps forward. There is not a real noise, but it "feels" like a bang. I have had it into the service dept a couple times. Last time they "reset" the computer for the transmission, then drove it around a while for it to "reset" itself for normal driving.

Did not work, if anything, it is worse. My dealership is about 40 miles away and at the current gas prices, I hate to keep taking it back...plus, I have a job.

Anyone have any ideas?

This is a common issue. If you grease your slip yokes every 4-5K and ease up on the brake pedal before stopping it will likely help a bit but it won't go away, it's normal. If you want to know more, search for "lunge" on this site and you will see at least 100 threads about it.
