When driving in dusty conditions, many of the members of the Forum have found that the MAF sensor fouls (often within about 10-15,000 miles) and needs to be cleaned.

From my reading of materials provided with the FJC (owner's manual, etc.) that service is not included or recommended. It might be useful to add that as a service item for users who are driving in dirty/dusty conditions.

This is true whether the user is running completely stock filtration or after-market air filtration.

My MAF Sensor needed cleaning at 14000 miles.
I would not known that this was the solution if not for the information found on this forum.
Cleaning or inspection needs to be a part of p. maint.

It'd be nice if they did state this in the manual before my dash started to light up like a Christmas tree!!!:flame:

I clean My Maf every 3 filter cleanings (about once a month). just makes sence, takes like 3 minutes tops. If you have a CAI you will notice that dirt sneaks in around the filter on the ring it mounts to. I solved that with a bead of sealant.
