I posted this in my local club and it got pretty good feed back so I thought it might be worth here.

I took out my driver side oh sh*T handle and put up 2 Mag Light clips. I bought them at the local hardware store and then just drilled them to fit the bigger bolts.

I have not had it fall or move, and it sure is nice to be able to have a flashlight at that close of reach.

The clips seem solid and where it is mounted does not have a lot of bending movement so it has stayed solid. I do see what you are saying though and I might change it to that if it ever falls. Hopefully not on my knee or out the window!

I was thinking a while back that someone could design a simple plate with slots and holes for mounting a lot of things like GPS etc to fit those handle screws. It's out of the way and doesn't inhibit the view. One could call it a "handi" mount. What do you think Bandi?? :)

LOL! Not bad! I might be afraid of something falling out the window though.

I too have been looking for a spot to mount the MAG. What size is your's? I have a 3D cell & it is too big for that spot. I also have a 3C cell & that to is too long for the A-piller. Is my FJ a "midget" or something? I use the FJ for work every day & need the MAG at every stop I make. I like the rear mount idea but, I'd need to open the rear door every time for that. I also use the A-piller grab handle to get into the FJ. Nice mod I will try to make it work, would be very handy for my line of work.

here are a few pics of my maglite, I tried using 3m products but it didn't hold up at all.... so i drilled the brackets into the cover of the storage area... you can replace the cover if you ever want to remove the mag and mounts.

Maybe we should have the title changed to "Show us your lights". This is great ideas and I like how they are all showing off differnt storage solutions. I would also like to know if anyone has a spotlight in there storage area. I keep one in the back storage area but wold like to see if there was other options.

Northern_Cruiser the paper towel holder is genius.

I think that I am going to add in the rechargeable light somewhere but I would have a question about turning it on and off all the time. Does that effect the amount of charge it can hold?

sonof40, I checked out that post,Perfect for my needs. 1st: it's handy, right there for me. 2nd: It's much smaller & always charged, don't need to lug that 3D cell every time. And I think I'll end up mounting the 3D in the cargo area, just to have it. Tanx, I'll pick that one up this week....

sonof40 - That is some crazy money for a flash light. I do not think that I use the light enough to warrant a $90 investment. If I did not have to buy any gas at $4.50 a gallon for the cheap stuff, maybe I would do it.

Very nice. I use these clips for my big D-cell, LED maglight in the back by the fire extinguisher, but want some way to easily mount my smaller Surefire M3 up front.
