interesting solution mounting on the ceiling. I added similar smaller clips to my cross bars and stow the ladder on the roofnest. since the FJ has the "suicide doors", it makes it easy to put up and down.

I like the folding table on the tailgate. I might get one.
I typically bring a Coleman camp table. collapses small but still takes up room and takes a little time to build.
The Bison will replace it. The top measures approx. 14x40.
I have not field tested yet but hope to soon.

Some lessons learned for the install.
The rear door is not flat. there is a point in which the plastic trim panel angles away from the Bison Table.
I went to Ace hardware and purchased a bushing to fill the gap. All six fasteners are necessary. three per each side to keep the table firm against the door panel.

Progress: Rear door close-up pictures of final install, built the first drawer, painted the refrigerator slide. and replaced all temporary fasteners with permanent fasteners.
Final clear inside dimension of the first drawer is 48"x 19.5"

Big day today!

finally installed the cabinet and works much better than I had imagined. I still have a few things remaining (touch up, new drawer face with pull out handle, etc) but it's camp ready.

1. I installed a piano hinge towards the front for easy access to my recovery gear just in case I can't open the tail-gate.
2. I installed carpet squares. I have several extra and can easily replace if damaged.
3. the platform follows the contours of the wall panel. this maximizes floor area.

also,
a- he refrigerator straps were $10 on amazon. I had to trim to size since they were 12'-long. threads through the igloo corners.
b- had to buy a 90d corner for the power cord. runs parallel to the refrigerator vs poking out.

Since this is an entirely new system for me, I need several night of camping so I can discover how to organize. I'd like to fit out the drawers internally to create an easy access "nesting" system.
but this will be a future project. Next on my list is the water distribution system.

i went off-roading on Wednesday and quickly discovered the flaws. My cabinet hatch vibrated constantly.

1. Added on each side a toggle clamp latch. this fixed the issue.
2. also cut a few drawer dividers and reorganized.

With a quickly deployable awning and tent, I was realizing the unreasonable amount of time it's taking me to setup the lighting. I have festoon lights with clips, I hang them from the awning and they take a while to pack, deploy and store. They are also bulky when packed. So its time to retired the festoon lights.

1. I had installed lighting on the rear gate door (in a previous post #27)
2. I have a front runner telescoping light. I haven't figured out yet a viable solution but I like it has a control and I can turn it on from the inside of the tent. I will eventually refine this gear and process.
3. I installed LED lighting on my 270 awning.

The LED lights are 24" long and can be extended. I already ordered a second set so when complete, each of the four-awning beams will have 48" long LED lights.
I installed an SAE plug so when i close the awning, i don't have to fuss with the cord. every device in my rig has migrated to SAE. I like the consistency.
The SAE plug on my door is connected to a dimmer so I will be able to control the lumens at night and reduce power consumption

Pretty soon you’re gonna pull up … push one button Jetson’s style… and the whole camp will be set, with a roaring fire and a beer in your cup holder! 🤣

you are correct!, that's the plan, to much time is spent in the work vs play.

Just read this thread all the way through. What a fantastic build with great skills and attention to detail, especially the electrics. 👍

thank you! I'm following your build. you've done an amazing job with it. my bucket list includes shipping my FJ to Europe and visit for several months. I Would love to explore the country side of UK.
Water project:

1. Scepter 20L jerry can
2. tapped the inside of the spout with 1/2" NPT
3. 1/2" x 1/2" NPT brass nipple pipe fitting.
4. Flexilla 3/8" x 35' long air-hose. I cut to length to reach bottom of jerry can
5. drilled hole on pipe cap, Schedule 40 (i didn't want the white cap)
6. epoxy attached 3/8" barb quick disconnect.
(repeat on a second for a total of 40L/10gal)

Because I didn't modify the original spout cap, I can return to original condition.

Water Project- part 2

1. Added a shelf under my storage system.
2. added 12v water pump,
3. positioned both water jugs facing each other. each one has a quick disconnect so i can pull from either source
4. added a quick disconnect in the rear.
5. cut a custom length hose to reach my shower enclosure.

works as expected.

Future considerations:
a- I ordered a Y-valve with shut offs. i may attach both jerry cans.
b- smaller hose for rear for when washing dishes, etc. the one I cut is longer then necessary for most tasks

My awning has (4)-beams and I had originally installed 24" LED on each beam (Reference Post #30)
I wanted to extend to 48" LED strips on each beam so I ordered another 24" set.

1. The kit I used is scalable. using a 4pin connecter, you can attach a second 24" LED Strip
2. The 3M adhesive works great but time will tell.
3. because I installed a dimmer, I can regulate the load.
Maximum load is 47watts (+/- 1.5 watts)
Minimum load is 1.5watts (+/- 0.25 watts)

I attached the product link below. great value for $19 each set.

Impressed every time you add another detail 👌
Your FJ is the best overland/off-road build I’ve seen, and greatly enjoyed getting a tour of the brilliant, high-quality mods you’ve done - A+++!! Really clever inventions that make so much sense and are original…..all with top shelf components. Your FJ will be a loyal companion for life and I look forward to returning to Florida to wheel with you (hopefully with your daughter in her FJ!) and catch up on the next layer of mods you’ve added. Have a great trip out west - wish our time schedules coincided….maybe Moab next year 😁

thanks @debFJVT for your kind comments; love your long travel. you tackle the trails as if you're driving on pavement. truly awesome to watch,
if Deb can't tackle the obstacle, its best if I don't try....

Our MOAB trip keeps fluctuating. I'll PM you with more details but we are for certain going.
we've had some good time. let's keep it going. I'm thinking one more Citrus trip.
