Set up:

Cold truck, cold transmission, first start of the day.

Parking break on, transmission neutral, clutch start override engaged, clutch pedal released

So I turn the key and I notice the vehicle lurch against the parking break as if the clutch is partially engaged.

Is this a misalignment of the clutch or something else?

I currently have an AT equipped FJ but I have experienced what you describe on other MT equipped vehicles with the clutch out. The thick dino gear lube in the manual tranny creates resistance within the trans until it warms up. I consider this normal if using dino oil. Synthetic tranny lube helps some. You should not be feeling it once the tranny gets hot.

Thanks. It is stock Toyota lube as they are they only ones that have ever serviced it. I just never felt it in previous years, even when it was butt a$$ cold.
