A bump on this thread for a job well-done. DIY and cheap is good, and when things come out well as this light bar did, it's even better. Good work! :bigthumb:

I'm working on my own light bar also. I have seen some of the heavier duty ones on the web for sale, and at $200+ without lights, it's just stupid. I'm handy with a sledge and a hacksaw, so I said to myself: "Self, you can build one like that for next to nothing." :thinkerg:

I have a unique situation where I work that gives me access to a large scrap metal pile, so materials are no problem, just a place to work on it is the rub. Since the initial fabrication began, it has morphed into an interesting project. Much more elaborate than at first, but I think it will be a nice piece. We shall see. I'll post construction photos when it's completed.

I too, owe a huge majority of credit to all of those fine folks that have contributed their ideas on this forum. Y'all Rock! :rocker:

Thanks! :cheers:it was a fun project for sure. I've moved on to a Bajarack Utility rack and will be staying with this platform. However, I would like to add some lights to the roof and since garage height is a concern, I'll likely be building another folding bar for that as well.

post up pics of yours when you have it ready. I'd love to see them!
