Head-on collision slows traffic at Highway 395 and Palmdale Road | palmdale, road, adelanto - Local News - Victorville Daily Press

Not really much to say about it other than it sucks.

So needless to say I am off the trails for quite awhile. GEICO has indicated that it will be a total loss. I am not at fault and have a cop that was front row to attest to it.

Not sure if I will be in another FJ or not. I may look into a Rubicon. If I go that way I will still pop in here from time to time. I have made some great friends through this site and have had great times out on the rocks. The FJ went everywhere I pointed it including halfway through a minivan. The Rough Country lift brackets held up to the impact as did the 2" lug centric wheel spacers. I know there have been questions to both on this site in the past and I have completed the destructive testing portion of the debate. If I get another FJ, I will go "army green" and do the same mods that the Ti had, RC lift, Icon c/o's, All Pro bumpers/sliders.

Dude that sux, but my experience is where someone shuts a door in my FACE one opens somewhere else......

GET A 2010 ARMY GREEN!!!!!!

FTW!!!!!!!
We're all just glad that you're okay. Hope to see you around whether you get another FJC or not!
Too bad it was in the paper in this case. Do you think you could buy it as salvage and part it out?
So is the All Pro bumper air bag compatible ?
YES the drivers airbag went off and it was loud.
Thanks for the replies
Glad that it sounds like you're ok.

Gee...I dunno, if I walked away from a head-on in my FJ---that would
be proof enough for me to get another one!!
man, as bad that sucks, you walked away, and thats whats important! the automobiles can be fixed or replaced...just glad you came out as well as you did!1

I am just sore from the seat belt mostly and pretty angry at how stupid some drivers are. The paper was a bit misleading it was not a real head on.

The Rub has locked Dana's at each end, so it maybe a smarter starting point for my next off road rig. I have not ruled out another FJ just thinking it over right now.
Ohhh Phil, Glad no serious injury.

Whatever truck you get to replace this FJC, I wanna rock-crawl with you again cuz you're an excellent 4-wheeler!
Glad you're OK! Looks like the front passenger in the minivan hit the windshield. Was everyone wearing seat belts and did your airbags deploy?
Dougie thanks I was planning on heading out to JV with Brent and Eric yesterday but that minivan changed my plans. Hows the snow been treating you lately? Hopefully I will be back in action for the summer season when you are ready to hit the trails.

I was alone in my ride and I had my belt on so did the guy in the Super Duty. As far as the van goes, I don't know.
That royally sucks. Glad you are ok.

What about airbag deployment in your FJ? Just curious since it's a mystery with a lot of aftermarket bumpers.
Airbag did deploy, I thought I mentioned that earlier.

Thanks! You did…I just didn't read the entire thread as it was in one of your follow-up responses. Again, glad you're safe and best of luck picking out your next ride.
Looks like someone wasn't wearing a seat belt... I'm glad that you are ok and I hope that whatever vehicle you get you don't second guess your choice and have fun in what ever you drive!

I think that window was blown out from the pass side airbag.
Wow...I always wondered the outcome a wreck (for both vehicles) with a HD brush guard bolted on.
Looks like the FJ held up well. Glad you are okay. I would go with another FJ, I own the current model Wrangler and they are nothing but problems and built with VERY sub standard parts.
