I plan on doing the same things with my bows for a RTT. Glad to see it works.

You can put a pin in the brakes with a 3/8" diameter pin or bolt through the hole in the side of the actuator assembly. Check to see if the holes line up properly before blindly inserting the bolt / pin. You may need to pull the lunette forward to get things aligned.

You can remove the whole surge brake assembly and just cap off the brake lines at the hubs if you want. I didn't add brakes back to mine and probably wont in the future either.
