Got a Stage 6 lift from Metaltech. Well, almost Stage 6... swapped out the UCAs for Total Chaos, otherwise it's a complete Icon setup, including the "shin guards".
I haven't had a chance to flex it off-road yet, but flying over speed humps, it lands like it's on pillows! Pretty impressive.
Initial thoughts:
•*It's a bit more "bouncy" than I expected just driving down the road. Feels more "truck-like", but then the stock suspension was pretty darn soft.
•*We left the sway bar off so it's leaning through the curves more than I like. I'll give it a chance to settle in, but odds are that it'll go back on.
•*It's rock-solid. Trying to rock it or jump up and down on the bumpers, it just doesn't budge.
•*I know it's only a 3" lift, but it feels so much taller. The stock suspension was so saggy though, that it's probably at least 5" taller than it was (I didn't measure it before).
I can't wait to try it out on the trail and on the beach. I have a feeling it's going to be frickin' amazing.
Working with Metaltech has been a great experience, too. LT patiently answered all my silly unedumacated questions and did a fantastic job with the install. He and Mark are really dedicated to doing quality work. I got a chance to check out some projects they're doing in the shop –*d.a.m.n., so cool. They make some mighty fine stuff. Can't wait 'til I can afford some more toys from them! Skids are probably next up...
No pix and it didn't happen, so here's some suspension porn. Enjoy!
