As some of you know I am a teenager from Colorado so this is a slow but steady build thread.

History: I actually got my fj by accident. I originally bought a tacoma with a 6in lift and 35s but ran into problems with it. So we returned it to the dealership within 48hrs. The night before bringing it back I felt I would just get a stock tacoma and build up, but I had a funny feeling I wasn't completely wanting a tacoma but wasn't sure why. So searching over google images at tacoma builds and mods I stumbled on to THE RAPTOR build. Aftering reading the 102 pages of the thread I decided I wanted the fj instead, so at 2am my dad and I searched the dealership inventory. The next day I had to work so I told my dad to get me a black or army green fj. When I got home from work I found a Black FJ sitting in my garage.

Purpose: The purpose of this build is obviously for offroading but I am designing it as an expedition vehicle as well. My goal is to able to go as far as possible and be able to live out of the vehicle for a good amount of time. For the off road section build I'm going to design it for mountainous regions rather than desert but I will not totally be ignoring desert mods/ cautionary measures. This means I won't be going 40 mph and be sticking to 10-15. In the future I will be mostly going with an extended travel setup. Being that I am looking at an expedition setup means that I will be mindful of the mpg and will try to maximize it to an extent. For the living out of it part, I would like to be able to go a week if needed but could extend it with a trailer down the road.

Name:
I got this name through my great interest in bears, one of the most powerful predators in North America. When I was in elementry school I got the chance to hold a baby black bear cub at a local reserve and since then have had a great attatchment to them. (One of my favorite Disney animated movies is Brother Bear) I chose the Black bear specificly because of the color of my fj and because we don't have grizzlies by me. The bear I keep on my dash I purchased this summer in Yellowstone while staying at the Teddy Roosevelt Lodge were Black bear routinely ran through camp. He travels everywhere the fj does while having a first class seat of my adventures.

2. Metal Tech shipped me a kit without rear shocks and the incorrect sway bar relocation bracket. After getting in contact with Brandon he quickly resolved the issue and send me the parts! They worked off the honor system as they had no way of know if I truely was sent the parts. This shows great trust in the vendors and will be buying many parts from them in the future.
3. Expedition one sent me their 2010+ windshield washer bottle and it had a blemish. So after sending them an email with a picture they gave me a discount on the item. Great people to deal with!
4. Gobi, twice now I have driven to their shop and purchased parts from them, both times they have offered to install them for free and gave me a discount for metioning Istevan (2whitehummers).

Nice job :bigthumb: You've done a lot of the things I want to do....

A word of warning.... That flashlight will become deadly if that airbag ever deploys.... Put it on the other side of the console, across from the Life Hammer...

Re: Offroad94 Build

Looking good offroad94.

I am not sure if you want to or not, but if you want the pics to be bigger, and not tiny thumbnails, try this:
Click on all of the thumbnails, when it opens, right click and "open in new tab" or window.
Copy the text in the address bar that should end with .jpg
Then, edit your post.
Above the text box when editing, there is a tiny picture of a mountain with a yellow back ground, click on that, and then paste the link you just copied.
Save the post (where you clicked edit before)
Now your pics will show up full size.

Re: Offroad94 Build

Looks good!!

What's up with 17 1/2 speed limit?
I took that for the picture challenge thread, it was the topic of finding a funny street sign. It was at my local target, they have 17.5 and 12.5 speed limit.
