One (small / medium) disappointment...

I did suffer one small disappointment with the summit.

Someone walked off with the hybrid sliders I won, though in the end, I'm happy with the tubular sliders they left behind.

I'm hoping it was a mistake, but they did take the sliders that had my name on them. Literally. My name was written on the Demello Off-Road sticker that was attached to the slider.

If it was a mistake, congrats on the accidental upgrade. If it was deliberate, well, Karma has a habit of catching up sooner or later.

In the end, knowing how Jason likes to over-engineer things, I'm happy with the tubular sliders.

Jason - thanks for offering to build me a set of the hybrids to replace the ones that wandered off - once again you prove you are a man of rare integrity and possess a compulsion to do the right thing. Tip of my hat to you sir.

Whoa, that just ain't right. I'm sure that whatever happened was accidental (I'd like to believe that)...

I walked off and left my Metal Tech sliders sitting on the lawn while I returned with the FJ to load them up, and not a soul touched them. I'd hate to think that someone in our group would purposely abscond with someone else's property.

I'm thinking (hoping) it was more due to confusion as to who won what, rather than a deliberate act.

I wasn't going to say anything, since I'm very happy with the tubular sliders, but thought I should at least mention it in passing.
Sorry to hear that. Hope it was accidental. Yes Jason would try to make it right. But as you stated any slider that Demello makes would be top quality.:rocker:

While i'd hope this was true, it is not. As i am sure you know, just because someone owns an FJ doesn't make them become this super nice helpful person like a lot of the people on this forum. Some people will be jerks no matter what happens in their life and no matter what vehicle they drive, ce la vie.

Hopefully it was just a mistake. Glad you still got a pair of sliders out of the mishap though.
I like potatos
There was some confusion over who won what since we could not hand the sliders to the winner upfront, they were over in the Demello booth. I would imagine it was not intentional.

For next year we need all the prizes up front with the folks verifying the winning tickets and possibly some tags to place on things people cannot easily carry away. I knew I should have walked over to the booth to make sure the right people got the right prize. We were just going as fast as we could to get done on time.

I am positive it will be better next year! Both in organization and the amount of prizes. Everything I have heard from the vendors I have spoken with is, they are truly impressed and surprised with the size of the event!
That sucks but how many tickets did you buy? Im guessing you still one a great prize for an amazing price!

Don't be so hard on yourself, Graham. I'm sure that it was unintentional, and you're not to blame for the mixup, if that's what happened. You and the others were doing a fantastic job doling out the gear, given the volume and clamoring crowd (of which I was one of 'em!)...

the thing is - it WAS organized to be nice and smooth. I had everything over on the side and knew exactly what was where, etc. This was how it worked last year, and it worked perfectly.....

this year - the only thing it took was a microphone cord that was too short to reach over there to screw up everything - there was no way I could do it remotely.

ah well - live and learn - it all turned out well in the end!

to the OP - sorry about your sliders - that really sucks. My gut tells me it was an accident....
No worries!

I'm happy as can be - I'm of the opinion it was accidental. (I've vented, response from everyone is cool.)

I did alright for a $100.00 investment in tickets.

besides, I'm thinking I like the lines of the tubular sliders better anyway.

maybe next year, a pair of numbered stickers - one goes on the prize, the other on the winner. (for big prizes) Becomes pretty obvious if you got the right prize or not...

But I think everyone did a fantastic job - everyone involved should be congratulated!

Thanks guys!

Aslan...as you said....Karma will fix this.....good or bad.....
should be easy to find out who made the mistake?

log of prize winners or pics ?

Probably a mistake
So, who won the tubular sliders? They probably were given the hybrid sliders on accident.
It matters not. The Tubulars are already on my FJ. Life is good.
Sorry again about that. What happen was while I was reading off the tickets Kim (my wife) was trying to hand out the prizes. I walked over to our booth after I was done calling tickets off and the first person to walk up said he won the Hybrid sliders, I did recognize him winning something and I asked him 2-3 times are you sure you won the Hybrid sliders and he said yes.

I noticed there was a sticker on the sliders but I didn't see that it had a name on it I just thought someone had put a sticker on them. So I handed him the sliders and sent him on his way. When Kim realized I had given away your sliders she flipped out and we went into frantic mode to figure out what happened.

Because at this point the tube ones were gone as well. Then the winner of the tube sliders came up and asked to trade for the skid plate which no one had claimed. I assumed maybe this is where the mix up was so I traded him. When you walked up to get the sliders I then realized the whole thing was a mess and I offered to build you anther set of hybrids.

Sorry for the mix up, maybe next year getting the winning tapped to the product is the best way to go.

Jason I personally would like to thank you and all of the vendors!!!!!!! I think asian is very happy with the new sliders he won and I am sure that it was not intentional for any of this. You have gone above and beyond everytime for people and that is why you are known you to be an honest and reputable vendor. I personally love the products that I have purchased from you and will be getting one of those front bumpers soon due to a little scratch that I recieved during the summit. Keep up the great work and know that we all appreciate what you do.
Oh and can I win something next year geez! LOL
