If you can afford the delay/hassle, charge it on a card and use the credit card laws to get your money back if necessary. of course researching the company is helpful as well. Ron
How bad of an idea is it to buy stereo equipment from online dealers (crutchfield excluded)? All of the equipment is super cheap, but I'm pretty sure you can't get a factory warranty, just one from the company selling them...
An example is the Alpine PDX-5, which MSRP at $599 (same as crutchfield), which I can find from an online dealer for about $389, super cheap. The equipment is new and in the box.
Bad idea? Worth the risk of no warranty? Am I getting screwed?
good points there... i'm not worried so much about that, but it just seems "fishy" to me. I mean, the difference between me using a local shop or buying at crutchfield compared to one of these for an entire setup nearly saves me $900... How can they do this???
I would not be afraid to buy from this website. I n fact I have been looking to purchase a Kenwood DNX 5120. I haven't pulled the trigger because I can't get an answer on the compabilty of this unit w/ the steering controls.I've gotta add specifics...
onlinecarstereo.com seems to have some "incredible" deals...
PDX-5 for $429
I am in no way affiliated with that website, and am nervous to go through them, but am looking for more feedback from some of you all!
now with more link goodnessI just got an even better deal on the Amp from Barney's Electronics through Amazon...
