Where would the Diode Dynamics pods look best? (SAE)

Well…. I don’t know. What do you think? It took long enough just to decide to go with diode dynamics, I’m exhausted 🥱

Round on the Bumper?

or Standard in the Grill?

and if you know, am I even close to the bumper mounting positions? Too soggy to crawl under just yet.

Much Obliged …🙃

Not only will look better in the grill (in my opinion) but it will likely perform better. You want fogs lower than the headlights to be truly useful - unless they’re just for show (In which case I still think it looks better in the lower grill) 😎

I agree with your placement logic … of course everything is at least 80% “looks”

Grill! More functional and the higher placement of the other option just looked so dinky.

I have my fog lights right between the headlights. They are too high and don`t help in the fog at all They just reflect off the fog. I`m going to lower them to the lower bumper this summer and that should help. To high and they don`t function like they should. :)

the bumper mounting points are about 2 inches outboard from where your lights are in the first pic, but IMHO 6 inch lights look better there. the fogs look great in the lower grille and as stated above, will be much more useful down low.

Bottom. I'd consider getting white lights and getting yellow lense guards. That way you'll kind of have a "two for one". It's pretty much a coin toss between Diode Dynamics and Baja Designs. Both are great options.

This is the set I currently have on my bull bar with both clear and yellow lense guards. The top two LEDS have the clear lense and go a good distance. The bottom two spread the light over a wider area which is a bit better for fog conditions.

Those are BD Squadron Sports that I use for cowl lights. They are both awesome!

Grill all the way
Too small for the bumper
Next ones should go bigger and go on bumper, always good to have more light

I had a set of old Hella clear fog/driving lights behind the lower grill and they did a great job of spreading the light low and very wide. You could see what was on the side of the road so if an animal was there and about to cross you had more time to brake. I only switched to BD clear fogs because I got a new bumper and the old ones would not fit. The BDs do the same thing only better.

Grille. I have mine lower, in the bumper (aftermarket) and other lights on top of it (brackets, same height as headlights) and cannot use the bumper-top lights at all in fog/active snow & rain.

You needed a selection for the grill location in the bumper in the voting. I wouldn't mount them on top of the bumper because you'd have to drill holes to mount them and if installed in the main upper grill, it's too high for fog lights.

Done and done ;)

The Grill votes confirmed my preference for function and mostly form. I think I figured out why I was considering bumper mounting… nostalgia

Definitely agree that lower is better. I do agree that you should get clear with yellow lens cover. That's what I did with mine...it works really well! Can't wait to see what you decide on!
