Well, I've been wanting this flat black forever now and I finally got to it.

Here's when the skid was removed to get to the tow hitch cover bolts.

Here's the skid sitting aside, only one reason i took this pic, hehe

And here's it finished!!!

but what's that?? you don't see the skid anymore??

Oh wait i remember.. I painted that flat black too

you just helped me make up my mind. I got the front painted this weekend but couldn't decide on the center section on the back.

looks great, the sandstorm is much sharper blacked out.

:bigthumb: Looks good! I like that piece blacked out. We did mine last weekend...my husband was putting on the hitch and my son scratched up the new cover. No choice but to paint it and it looks nice that way.

That looks nice!
BTW, is that dirt or rust on your hitch? I hope it's not rust.
no it's dirt,

by the way, if anyone goes offroading and wants to do this mod, make sure you powerwash into the top of the skid before you take it off. i washed the truck a little, but didn't spray up there, and every bolt you take off with drop dirt on you, and when you finally get the skid off it should be full of dirt and leaves :D

just a friendly tip, also someone pm'ed me on the bolts and brackets for this i made up a little photoshop key to help if anyone is choosing to do it, just a little think to show you what to look for
