Possible run in June

I'm thinking about doing a weekend run in June, and am curious if anyone would like to join me. I'm thinking about four very different locations, limit 10 vehicles(if there is interest), each amazing and little visited.

1. White Mtns: Lots of little explored trails, ranging from 2,000' to 11'500', amazing views of Mt Whitney and the Owens valley. Camping on the side of a mountain, with unobstructive view. And as a bonus, there is the bizarre landscape and ancient bristlecone pines, the oldest trees on yhe planet, some 5000 years old. North of Death Valley

2. Monache Meadows: 1 Challenging trail on the way there(Sherman Pass Jeep Trail), optional play areas, and then the largest meadow in the Sierras. Plus you get to cross the mighty Kern in 3 places. West of Ridgecrest

3. Alternate Mojave trail: Start in Baker, travel south through the lava flows, visit some lava tubes, pass through an historic mining district, and stop at the Kelso dunes depot. From there, visit the dunes, and take Kelso Dunes rd West, , then North ending in Afton Canyon.

4. Usal Beach and Lost Coast rd: Amazing unspoilt beach, you can camp on the lost coast highway that runs past it is one of the worlds greatest scenic offroad trails. Last time I camped on the beach, I had 3 full grown elk hang out next to my campsite for threee hours. Expect loads of wildlife, and take plenty of film. 150 miles North of San Fran.

I just though I would see if there is any interest, I will be doing two or three of thes this summer, but I think doing one as a group could be fun. You guys let me know if any of these appeal to you. I am fimiliar with all of these places, and know the sights.

Make excuse, "I need to check on the landscaping" or something like that.

How you been, I have'nt seen you on much late(well, truth be told, with my new job, been a while for me too). When is the move date? Hows preparation going? You are gonna make that excuse, are'nt you.:bigthumb:
I think I have plans for the first weekend in June, but all others are open. I might do one of these in July also (all are good in summer exept Mojave trail). I'm keeping my calendar flexible for those two months, so let me know what dates work best.
Can you tell us more of Monache Meadows? Looks like heavy pin striping country.
I have'nt done the jeep trail, so I would have to pre run it, but the road to the Meadow is pin strip free, as are all of these runs. Monache is at about 8,500 ft and has a view of Olancha peak from the back side. There is fishing, sightseeing, and it is very remote. It is overun with marmets, (for the GF's, they seem to love the tailess beavers for some reason), you will see wildlife. There are several campsites, some next to the Kern.
I haven't been on in about a month. Landscaping finished about 3 weeks ago, and I have sunk into a deep depression. Well, not really, but sort of. Can we talk?

Seriously though, the yard is to die for, and I don't want to fugging go now. This is causing major marital strife. And then the other day it was the last stress straw when my son lost his stupid balloon and so I slammed the rear FJ door into the bike rack. Now I have to buy some fother mucking touch up paint. I nearly cried.

And that's not even the half of it. Can we talk? :silly:
Ouch, taking it out on the FJ. I hope things are'nt too bad. After the move, things will normalize. You said it was a three year contract. I was just locked into one myself, but the unions rules changed, so i'm free. Maybe it won't be three years after all. Then again, maybe in 6 months, you will want to stay. We can talk anytime, as long as its not in a Joan Rivers voice:jester:
The beach one looks cool!
I'm definately going to Usal Beach, but it might be far for the Socal crowd. I'm gonna have to use a day and a half of vacation time. I will contact you, if the rest of the crowd does'nt make it, and let you know when I go.
