Hello FJ Owners,

This is my first post here and, unfortunately, it deals with the problem. I've just installed an aftermarket head unit (Kenwood DMX906s) and component speakers. All purchased from Crutchfield. I've also purchased Crux SWRTY-61S with the SWC harness to retain steering wheel controls. Crutchfield did the wiring connectors for me. After the installation, everything works with the exception of the steering wheel control. They work BUT intermittently, sometimes I have to press the volume button ten times for it to work. I've checked all the wires and connectors. I called Crutchfield; they sent me a new Crux SWRTY-61S set. I've replaced the black module, reprogramed it a few times, disconnecting the battery every time, even replaced the SWC cable, the control still works intermittently.

Has anyone had a similar issue and has an idea of what could be wrong? This is for a 2007 FJ.

Is there a plug-n-play alternative to Crux SWRTY-61S ?

Thank you in advance for your input.

I would highly recommend using a Maestro RR unit
