Is it ok to drive my cruiser at highway speeds with the 4WD shifter in neutral. I have a 6 speed manual transmission.

Welcome from Oregon :)

Don't have a 6MT so I won't comment.

Drive it with the shifter in neutral? Doesn't that put the whole kit and caboodle into neutral? Do you mean tow it?

I guess I wasn't clear. I mean driving it at highway speeds with the 4WD shifter (not the transmission itself) in neutral to disengage the 4WD. The 4WD shifter has a HL, H, N and LL position. Like I said, it is a 6 speed MT.

Try it and let us know. It won't work, Neutral means no gear selected.

It won't go anywhere.
All drive goes through the transfer case.
I'm not sure why you would want to NOT be in 4WD - Is it for economy? The difference is negligible, and your'e driving a brick.
If you want economy, buy an ultragauge and watch the instant MPG and learn that speed has the biggest impact on fuel consumption, not how may wheels are being driven.
