if you decide to replace the bearing and seal, here is how it is done... FJ Cruiser Rear Bearing Replacement. Even if you take it in... always good to know what their doing.

That said, first change out the breather (easy and cheep) or do a scuba mod for your FJ Cruiser with a new breather. if that doesn't solve the leak, second change out the seal (not hard but messy). If it still leaks then the bearing gets replaces. Unfortunately if you have a shop do the repair, labor for a seal or a bearing replacement is about the same... but parts are significantly different.
