PM sent as I have mine that have been sitting on the closet shelf since I drove the FJ home eight years ago.

The head rests for the back seats were one of the weaker design features on the FJ. You cannot lay your rear seats flat without first removing the head rests. And there is no convenient place to store the head rests, except on a shelf in the garage.

Toyota might have designed the back of the rear seat in a shorter configuration (or contoured), in such a way that the head rest could be lowered so the rear seats could lay flat without head rest removal.
