While I am waiting for my Red Eye swing out bumper to be built, I have decided to relocate the rearview/back up camera to my ARB roof rack.

It was very easy to relocate, I just cut the wires in half and extend it and ran it in the gutter and I used a collar clamps and I can still adjust the viewing angle if I have to. I am very happy with the outcome and I have a "WAY"better view of things when backing up.

Cheers?

Very nice work, Dennis. Clean and out of the way. Not likely to get mud up to the roof rack level to block the camera either. :bigthumb:

Thanks brother, I was lucky that the collar clams I had was exactly 1" in diameter. It was as a perfect fit.
Lol, if I get any mud on the camera the truck must be 6 feet under...?

Great idea. I want to get the new Saris spare tire bike rack and they say it will not work with the backup camera. My idea was to move it as well either onto the bar coming out of center of tire rim or bumper cover. I like your idea. What type of wire do I need to relocate the camera?
