My accumulator on my 08' FJ is bad and I took it to the dealership and they wanted to replace the whole pump assembly. I was told that it is what they recommend and would not replace the just the accumulator even though you can buy just the part. This is the difference in parts alone of $300 for just the accumulator and $1,200 for the pump assembly (plus another $800 in labor for the assembly removal/install).

My question is has anyone ever replaced their accumulator or had a shop do it?? It doesn't seem to hard to do as long as you watch out for the pressure on the accumulator during removal and make sure you bleed your brakes after install.
