Just ordered a set to be sent to the great white north, and I'm giddy with anticipation. I have been looking closely at the engine skid, and I'm wondering if a few drain holes would be in order. My concern is snow/ice/mud etc staying up there. While I know these are aluminum, the backer skids would probably not withstand sitting in slush for any length in time. What do you think? Would a couple of drain holes really weaken these?

I left the plate solid as it will slide better, and less to get hung up on. A few holes here and there shouldn't compromise the plate as long as it isn't turned into swiss cheese. A hole saw, and a good drill would do the trick.
