There’s a good chance you will intersect our trail on Tuesday. We will be on the RRT for part of our route.

Aren't you coming from the east... and I'm coming from the west?

I'm confused... need sleep

Either way... it'll be great to run into your group! :bigthumb:

I’ve done parts of it but not the whole thing. Might make for a long day but if you get behind there are plenty of places to bail out and take the highway.

I will be with Ace’s group. We are starting in Delta and go west the first day but then swing around and head back east on Tuesday.

Hope we do cross path’s. Are you a ham? If so I am sure we will be on 146.460.

I'm thinking of taking the dirt roads to Montrose from Moab on the Tuesday.

Detailed Directions - Rimrocker Trail
https://www.drivingline.com/articles/the-rimrocker-trail-160-miles-of-dirt-and-adventure-from-montrose-to-moab/

If anyone would like to join in... chime in here.

I've never done this trail so if anyone has already done it and are planning on going on it... you would definitely be welcome! <img src="http://www.fjcruiserforums.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0" alt="" title="Big Grin" class="inlineimg" />

I might be bringing my GPS... probably a good idea

@Xx_Black-out you in? <img src="http://www.fjcruiserforums.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0" alt="" title="Big Grin" class="inlineimg" />
@Thorn661 ?
Yeah man! We might bail out if the day starts getting to long since we’ll have the little guy with us but we’re definitely going to start from Moab.

I’ve got to be at my cabin in Ridgeway by Sunday afternoon so that probably won’t happen, I may link up with Dan and Nick and see what that’s all about!

I don't have a Ham radio yet..... Just the CB.

I'm on channel 4 on the CB so far.... We may stay on this channel unless there's interference or lots of traffic on it.

I went back and checked out those links you posted and those are great descriptions of the trail that I had not seen before.

I have been over the La Sal Pass a couple of times as part of the Kokopelli Trail during Cruise Moab. One time I jumped on the Rim Rocker in the Paradox Valley and took it as far as Nucla then bailed out and took the highway the rest of the way.

So far it's just Nick (Blackout) and me.

We'll be eating breakfast and starting later in the morning.

Passed through Paradox valley today, I loved that place. Stopped at the little store in Bedrock and that was cool, built in 1881 and still standing tall. I sat and shot the chit with owner Anthony who’s from the Bronx originally, nice guy. Damned beautiful drive over from Moab, resting peacefully at 9,000’ now. :grin

Very cool.
We'll have to figure out a time.when we're all heading out.
I was planning on a breakfast and then going.

EDIT:.
We'll be heading out around 0830-0900.

I'll check this thread prior to leaving if anyone is interested.

PM me if you are very interested.

We finalized some timings finally.... Lol.

We will be rolling out from near the pumps at City Market.... At 0900 sharp. (Wheels rolling at 0900).

I will be there prior to that filling up, etc.

So far there is:
Me (white FJ - WNTRPEG license plate)
Blue FJ
Silver (muddy) Rubicon ;)
And 1 other (not sure what he's driving yet)

Well, we did some of the RRT but saw no others this time. We will be doing the overnighter next year again and may add another night to camp. Of course extending the mileage. Wish more would join us for camps with views like this.

@Winterpeg .... so how was the trip on Rimrocker Trail? Did you take it the whole way? How long did it take?

Good things? Bad things about the route?
It was way better than I had expected.

Lots of great shelf roads and epic views.

I don't have access to the pics right now... but you can imagine.... just lots more of the epic Moab sights to see... that gradually got more and more green.

The only downside would be that it was pretty dusty and it took quite a while.

We went about 72 miles (of the 160 miles complete?) and it took about 4 or 5 hrs. There was a little copilot in one of the rigs that had enough of the trail and the rest of us agreed :D

It then crossed some pavement and we aired up, blew out our air filters, and took the pavement for the last little bit.

I would definitely do that trail again. Next time I may take a couple days to do it or factor in a VERY full day.

Wish I could've done this with you guys as well as Moab Rim but we had to bounce, I'm definitely digging the idea of a two day camping excursion on the RimRocker.
