I am putting roof lights and I want to know if I should run my own wires or wire it to the existing plug that is behind the a pillar for the factory roof lights. Does this plug have power to it?? Is it hooked up to a switch in my panel??? THANK YOU

I would run new wire with wire gauge sized to the lights you have.
Why? If the existing wiring is adequate gauge why replicate it? These pre wire features are there to make these light installations easier and neater. Pretty sure there is a slot for the relay in the fuse box as well … as isnthe case for the front mounted driving lights.

What size is that wire? What lights are being installed? What is the wattage of those lights?

Check this out if you want to run your own wires without drilling a hole through the roof.
