I have installed a light bar on the factory roof rack from my 07 FJ. On occasion I have noticed a hum coming from the roof rack (can't tell if it's the rack or the light bar). Seems worst at around 50 MPH and if there is a crosswind it is bad enough to shake the mirrors.

Any suggestions on what to do about it? I like the factory bar as it avoids me drilling the roof to install the light bar (which I REALLY like). I guess I can live with the hum, just have to turn up the stereo but would like a better solution if possible.

TIA for any replies...the more I drive this thing the more I like it.

You could take a towel and tape it to the rack covering a 2 foot section. Take the towel off and keep moving it over until the sound stops. Once you find the area you should be able to figure it out from there.

If that does not work, it could be the trim around the window.
