So is your FJ garaged or standing out? mileage is low so suggests it stands around... much more likely to rust than if it were used regularly unless it is stored in a heated garage. I don't see the rust on Toyota being any different to other vehicles, unless you want to compare it to a Land Rover Defender of course which comes out of the factory rusting... Rust is the oxidation of steel accentuated by the presence of moisture, it's not something Toyota or any steel maker 'build in'.I agree I will never ever ever ever purchase another car from TOYOTA. My FJ Cruiser was purchased brand new in 2007 and has only 25,000 miles and is rusting away under neath. Its a shame they don't recall these rust buckets. I hope with enough complaints their sales will eventually drop to nothing until they recall these rust buckets and fix the problem.
