Recently I purchased a 2008 TT and need/want to start modifying. This week I plan on getting the front windows tinted 35% and have ordered a custom Covercraft sun shade. Next purchase will be a URD quick shift kit. Post your pics or list recommended mods for the 2008 TT.

Man I love this FJ!

Looks nice. Did your FJ come with lights mounted on the front bumper? I'm wondering if they would be in the way of the brush guard and I would need to relocate. Thanks for the additional ideas. FJ's are like Legos, you can keep building and never run out of ideas.

yes, the TT comes with fogs mounted on the front bumper....if you add the brush guard, you have to take off the fogs from the bumper and put them on the brush guard..there are tabs on the brush guard for the fog lights
I have a few more things in the works.
love the front bumper..
do those steps fold up?

Just curious (hope this isn't a dumb question), the TT comes with an automatic, right? What advantage is this quick shift kit for an automatic?
TT comes in both AT and MT models (learned that after buying my AT). Short shifter does nothing for an auto, it is only to shorten the throws of the manual. Hopefully, I'll have some pictures to show of my modified TT
i see youve been busy Brent!!!
I would say recovery equipment, 3inch lift, CB, and better under body protection... on the other hand it's already very very capable stock.

I plan to just tackle trails stock for now... if it can't do a trail cause it sits too low or not enough underbody protection... I would probably be too inexperienced and scared to do it to begin with... I plan on getting it lifted and & bud builts as I gain more experience & courage.

At the bare minimum I would do recovery equipment, CB radio, and TRD CAI (just to round out the TRD theme)

Yea. I gotta slow down after July (2 more trips to Uwharrie planned this month). I've spent almost every weekend this summer either wheeling, working under the hood or working under the FJ. I need a vacation from my hobby. ...I'll bet you know the feeling. At least I'm only addicted to one automobile-related hobby!
Nope they don't fold up
have you had problems with them off-roading?
the trail teams are so sick

So far i have:
-tinted my front lights
-tinted driving lights blue
-blackout front toyota emblem
-40% on windshields
-10% on side windows
-3" lift
-and tinted back parking light and reflectors

That looks pretty cool. I've never seen a TT "blacked out" to that extent. Nice.
the blackout looks awesome...

btw...is it legal to do the windshield?

up in PA its not legal to do ANY tint at all unless its oem...
but they will tolerate it to an extent...as long as they can see into the
window...i opted to have 20% on the side windows to match the rest
but left the windshield stock...

on my rx8 i went with 35% on the front windows, 20% on the pop outs and rear window...
at my age, i just dont wanna get a tint ticket...
For me so far, full recovery equipment, PowerTank, FourTreks mounts (Hi-Lift and shovel), and Toyota airdam with lights (on the roof rack).

I built a hitch-rack thats made of aluminum and steel, 18"x53", sits about 4ft off the ground wraps around the midpoint of the spare tire, and shares the same curved receiver mount as my Yakima bike rack which gives me great departure angle. Fits a cooler and a couple of gas cans.

I have a Warn 9.5ti Portable that fits my '85 4Runner. I haven't figured out yet how to mount a receiver in the front of the FJ.

I'm going to hold off on a lift, bumpers, and extra armor. This truck is my daily driver and I really like the 19-20mpg I get. I've found that the stock TT is really quite capable offroad. In a few years I'll buy another daily driver and this will become my weekend toy, and THEN I'll start the mods.
