Shortly after buying "The Moose" the passenger side mirror light went out.
Thinking I'm a handy guy, I watched many YouTube videos on how to get the mirror off to get to the light socket. Great! That doesn't look so hard. Guess what happened? Yup, cracked it up. So I bought a replacement online and finished the job.
3 months later the driver side went out. It was due for an oil changed so I asked the dealership to change it. They told me they couldn't guarantee it wouldn't break the mirror. And that I would have to pay for a new mirror if it broke while they were changing the bulb.
I laughed and told them I might as well do it myself.
They said it was a poor design and it was 50/50 if the mirror would break.

So, anyone have a better solution?

I found two videos on you tube. My mechanic said to do it in the summer only. He wouldn't do it because he said the first step was to warm the mirror with a hair dryer. Ha ha.
I put in LED bulbs so hopefully it will not go out again. My only problem was when the right one finally popped off it flew up into the air and I caught it before it hit the concrete floor. So maybe do it in the grass too. or have a friend nearby.
