I got my 315/70/17's mounted up today.. One of my favorite mod's to date so far :rocker: I thought the 285's changed the ride, but these transformed it. Tracks straight, rolls forever, corners better than before. Power loss is there, but minimal.. not enough for me to be bummed about, and i am a speed junky.

Next to my bro's silverado (35x12.5x17)

The 1.5" spacer:

And yes.. that is still the stock spare. I will get the matching tire sometime before Ouray..

Looks great.

Have you checked to see if the 35" will fit on the spare mount - 35" tires would not clear on mine.... Guess its bumper upgrade time :lol:.

i still dont get how you have the money to do all of this.... Im 20 and still dont have the backing to put the lift and tires on. :( looking great though, just jealous
How do i afford this stuff? Well,

1) I still live at home.. :) :( I could put my mod/car payment money to my own place, but i decide not to.

2) Everything i buy is either used or a ridiculous deal (the tent and rack for example.. more than half off.)

I have bought two sets of four BFG a/t's now, and i still haven't spent over $900 for both sets.:rocker:

And now I'm selling off my bumper, rails, winch (sold the winch line today) and a set of BFG's all to get money in hand... So, im actually de-modding right now until september-ish :mecry:

You should call your FJ the money pit. Dam Dom, you spend mo money on things than anybody else I know of. Looks good. Your tires are like 11.5" wide, right? Whats next? Rotating Leather seats???

Nice pictures Dominic. Dom, try putting a spacer in the spare and see if you can get enough clearance to open the rear window. I think that might do the trick.

wouldnt that add alot of leverage to the spare mount?

i wouldn't get a full size spacer like i have up front. If i don't need that much space, i could just get one of those cheapo spacers from pep boys and stick it back there (not very thick, but hopefully just enough).

update:

Took a dinner run to in n out about 15 minutes ago, and i have to retract my statement about power loss. It was a lie.

The power is still there. I gunned it all around town for a few miles... still seems fast. (the fj is in no way fast.. but, you know what i mean)

Also, when i back up with the wheel clocked to the left, i get an insane amount of rub.. and only on the left side.

Don't forget that you've added the DT y pipe in the mean time.
