I bought this vehicle in 2019 primarily as a recreational, outdoor activity and camping vehicle. I am selling this as a package because last week I purchased a 2018 Tacoma TRD Off Road and I am going to outfit the Tacoma with a low profile bed rack and a FSR High Country 55’ Extreme Weather clam-style soft shell rooftop tent. Here is what is included in the package:
  • 2007 FJ Cruiser Base Automatic 4x4. The mileage is under 173K. The Blue Book Value is $11,917.
  • Free Spirit Recreation (FSR) Aluminum Hard Shell Odyssey 49 inch extreme weather tent with the tri-layer quilted fabric ($3395 current price on FSR website), with new rack system ($600-$650).
  • Warrior Roof Rack - $1000 purchase price for the rack and $110 for the wind deflector.
  • Overland Equipment Vehicle (OEV) 180 degree awning. A new one costs $699.
Total value: $17,711. Package Price $13,800. Here are the details:
  • 2007 FJ Cruiser Base Automatic 4x4. The mileage is under 173K. The 4x4 is switchable from 4x2 to 4X4. I don’t believe any off-road modifications were previously done, and I have not done any. I purchased this in 2019 and I replaced in 2019 the pulley system for the belts, serpentine belt and water pump. In late 2021, I replaced the muffler, shocks and all 4 tires. I probably only put 2000 to 3000 miles on the new all terrain tires. I drive this all over Michigan including the Upper Peninsula for biking, hiking, snow shoeing, beach activities, picnicking, camping. The vehicle drives and operates fine. There is some rust. Also the transfer case gasket is “sweating.” To be on the safe side, I have topped the transfer case fluid twice since I owned the vehicle. The gasket replacement is approximately a $500 to $600 repair. The only other issue is that the following solid dash lights (no blinking) are on – engine, traction, VSC Off, VSC Trac. This usually is an emissions issue and even a gas cap can trigger this. My guess is probably a sensor. From the forums, I see that this is a common issue; I have driven the vehicle all over the place with no issue or loss of performance. I have discounted the vehicle price significantly in the event it is the catalytic converter. I also have a clean Auto Check (by Experian) report, similar to CarFax.
  • Roof Top Tent. This is the Free Spirit Recreation (FSR) Aluminum Hard Shell Odyssey 49 inch extreme weather tent with the tri-layer quilted fabric. I purchased this in spring of 2020. I have only slept in tent less than 10 nights so it is virtually new. The tent is in mint condition. A new one costs $3395. I also have the optional $600-$650 rack that attaches to the top of the tent; it is new and still in the shipping package. I don’t think you can get the rack anymore – I did not see it on FSR’s website.
  • Warrior Roof Rack. I purchased and installed this in spring of 2020. I paid about $1,000 for the rack and $110 for the front wind deflector. I also have 3 rack-specific awning brackets that I purchased for about $250.
  • Overland Equipment Vehicle (OEV) 180 degree awning. I was planning to install this on the warrior roof rack but never got around to it. And with my planned set-up with the Tacoma, I am not going to have an awning because I am going to have the planned tent low on top of the bed. The OEV awning is new and never deployed. A new one costs $699.
I have included several pictures, also one with the OEM rack before I changed the rack and put the RTT on. I also can throw the OEM rack for free in the event you want it.
