I had to remove the floor liner and the sound deadening putty under it due to Hurricane Harvey flood damage. The Harvey flood water had a good dose of sewage in it. Eight + weeks after driving through headlight deep water my FJ was funkadelic. The putty can be softened with a 50% solution of Simple Green. It turns the dense crystalline putty under the factory paint to a paste. Removal is still tedious but the paste consistency is much easier to remove than the dry crystalline residue.

Interesting...I've found Simple Green extremely useful working on my FJ, such as safely cleaning shocks. Does great on grease. Glad that's all the damage you suffered from the Hurricaine! :rocker:
