New guy here, just got a 2008 FJ, w/89k miles, looks to have a 3" lift. Aftermarket front and rear bumper.

The problem I'm having is during a 50-60 mph drive, I had to slam on the brakes when someone cut me off. When I did, the truck dipped to the side like as if one brake engaged and the other didn't or it felt like my ABS didn't engage. Because of that, my truck was about to go sideways unless I released the brake. SCARY for sure!

I've tried to reproduce it again, but haven't been able to, would rather try to do it on my terms than another surprise!

Any ideas or suggestions?

Although a brake check should be at the top of your list, make sure all of your suspension components check out okay. I had some rear upper control arms with bad bushings and it caused the rear axle to shift whenever the load on it changed which affected the tracking and steering of the truck. I took it to Firestone thinking it was an alignment issue, but they had no clue so find an experienced Toyota 4x4 mechanic to check it out.
