It seems like every trip we go on, we get to our destination and realize that there's something we SHOULD have brought along, but by that time it's too late.

From your experience last year, what stuff do you wish you had brought along?

It may be a big help for some of us "Summit virgins".

Well a CB, digital camera, cash... I know we can't plan for everything. But have a good time, take pictures and be a part of the CB talk on the trail. The other basics mentioned are good too.

The cash part, well get in on the drawing, and be sure to buy me a cold one too!

Yeah, if you follow the thread mentioned & the summit prep guide (2008 FJ Summit Preparation Guide*-*FJC Magazine: For FJ Cruiser Owners & Enthusiasts), you should be pretty well good to go. If you're bringing kids and/or pets there may be other considerations though.

dido what shane said...make a list, check it twice, and when you get to Ouray...everything will be nice!

about the pet thing though...last year someone on our Imogene run coming home forgot his dog at the summit after stoping for a photo opp...fortunately, someone picked him up and told all the FJers on the trail that he'll have the dog at his house in Telluride giving them his contact number...the guy that left the dog had to drive to Telluride and pick up his dog that Sat. evening during the festivities...

Although a tourist town with good restaurants and places to wet a dry throat, Ouray is small with limited grocery and dry goods stores. Either bring those types of items from home or plan on purchasing in Durango or Montrose.

cheers,
