Supercharger install on > 130k miles

Hey guys hopefully this isn’t a repeat post, I’ve tried searching but couldn’t find anything similar.

So i bought a used 2014 fj beautifully maintained but has >130k miles.

I am now wanting to put in a magnussen supercharger for my overland build. Engine runs beautifully. I don’t want to regear because what I really want is the displacement lol.

What are your thoughts on this?

It'll be perfectly fine. People have installed them at much higher mileage before. Especially if you keep it with the standard pulley.

If anything, the broken in piston rings should be gapped enough to help with the boost haha.

Haha that’s great to hear.
I put my TRD supercharger on with 135,000+ miles on my ‘07 FJ and have had zero issues, zero complaints, and only good things to say about it, except for the urge to be more aggressive with the throttle and shock people with how quick my blue box really is. That and fuel consumption 😉.

Nice! How much loss of mpg would you say?

Truthfully, I’m not sure- it’s right foot related mostly. If you drive it normally and don’t mat the accelerator, you should be good. For me and my new stealth capability, it’s a day to day struggle; ah, first-world problems…

In my experience the S/C results in about a 2mpg reduction (my MT was getting 14~16mpg before, now it gets 12~14mpg after). Worth it.

See if they will do a BOGO on the superchargers, I'll go in half with ya!

That's actually very nice. My MTs have decreased my mpg more than that.
Lol is this a thing?
Sure, why not? Ask for a discount if you buy two! I'm serious btw...

If you are worried about bad mpg...I lost about 2-3 mpg and towing a 2000# teardrop will get about 10-12mpg, don't do it. Otherwise I have enjoyed mine.
