Because Barnwell Mountian Recreation Area is one the best developed off-road parks in Texas, there is a seperate thread HERE with lots of 'locals' information specific to it.

BMRA (Gilmer, TX) - Barnwell Mountain Recreation Area

Katemcy Rocks (Mason, TX) - Katemcy Rocks (closing Summer 2009)

Long Ranch (Llano, TX) - Long Ranch OHVRA

Satan's Playground (Juno, TX) - Satans Playground

General Sams (Huntsville, TX) - General Sam's Offroad Park

Shiloh Ridge (Alto, TX) - Shilo Ridge

Hidden Falls Adventure Park (aka. Boulder Creek) (Marble Falls, TX) - Hidden Falls Adventure Park

Rough Canyon (Hitchc0ck, TX) - Rough Canyon

Trees Ranch (Kerrville, TX) - Trees Ranch

Superlift ORV Park (Hot Springs, AR)... not in TX but worth mentioning - Superlift Off-Road Vehicle Park

Brazos Valley Off-Road Ranch (Bryan, TX) - Brazos Valley Off-Road Ranch

Y.O. Ranch (Mountain Home, TX) - Y.O. Ranch

Cline Ranch (San Antonio, TX) - Cline Ranch

Primitive Acres ( Mt. Enterprise, TX) - Primitive Acres Guest Ranch

D-Day (Wyandotte, OK) - D-Day

Spring Creek (Spring, TX) - Spring Creek Off Road

Northwest Offroad Park (Bridgeport, TX) Bridgeport Offroad Park

This thread is to provide everyone a list of sanctioned wheeling areas excluding National Parks, National Forests and National Grasslands, with a coulpe of exceptions:

Big Bend National Park (Terlingua) is well known for scenic desert-style expedition trips. There is a link to a recent TLCA trip here and information on the park here

Palo Duro Canyon is more rugged and adventuresome. Palo Duro has two scheduled runs per year: Jeep Jamboree in May and Jeep Challenge in September. If you enjoy wheeling and aren't xenophobic, it is a great wheeling. Contact Ann Christian of the Figure 3 Ranch at 806-944-5562 to set up a group run. Some info here & an article here

Here's another link to a huge list of mostly out-of-the-way places, I can't vouch for it being updated or accurate though: 4x4trails.net

There isn't much "published" info on Oklahoma Wheeling, it's best to hitch up with someone that knows the areas- there is some great wheeling to be had up in Clayton & Disney (some good info here: Clayton and Disney). Moderate wheeling is much easier in the Oklahoma Park system and nice, scenic drives on logging roads are available around the Kiamichi Mountain/Broken Bow Area.

Post up your thoughts and help keep this up-to-date!

Don't forget Boulder Creek outside of Marble Falls!

Boulder Creek Trail Park - Marble Falls, Texas

EDIT: Boulder Creek sold "The 750" area, which had Pop-A-Top and Bee Alley.

Pop-A-Top was short level 4 that was mis-marked as a level 3.

Bee Alley was a fun Level 5 with a bypass on a stock FJ friendly level 4 climb and an early exit before the level 5 part. The rest of the trail was level 3 and below.

Re: Texas Trail Links - Spring Creek

Went to Spring Creek two weeks ago to play in the dirt for the first time in my new toy. Some trails are tight for 4x4s, lot's of dirt and mud and some decent terrain to play on. Ripped off a skid on a tree that was a bit taller than it looked! Had a blast!
