Very nice compilation, beyond that IMO paying more than $500 for a replacement bumper just seems crazy, especially when you consider you are adding weight and giving up factory feature in some cases, given they are much more durable and off-road worthy. Some of the manufacturers do have some nice products that are completely compatible with factory features and even include other nice options, but the cost just seems ridiculous? I'd like to see a piece of structure that sits inside of the factory bumper fascia that is compatible with all factory options and offers additional mounting points for additional features. It could be aluminum or steel, maybe steel for a lower cost solution and aluminum for a more expensive lightweight solution? This would retain the factory look except for some small amount of cosmetic relief for the additional mounting points.

Yeah if someone made one that looked factory but maybe had those additional recovery points and was a little lower profile that would be cool!

But I really like how low profile the Metal Tech Red Eye bumper is. It is definitely the best departure angle bumper there is, they said the only thing that limited them was the rear factory body mounts. But I've seen some who do custom cutting and trimming like you do with the regular BMC and then the FJ has a very nice departure angle! However not everyone wants to do major cutting and trimming and to keep it as only "bolt-on" as possible you have to make sacrifices.

Here is a link to a thread where they trimmed the rear of the FJ frame to get a really nice looking high-clearance bumper on there! http://www.fjcruiserforums.com/forums/4x4-off-road-tech/125226-new-high-clearance-rear-bumper-option-coming-soon.html

Also I went through and clarified info about the tow hitches after @bazross pointed out some issues with clarification. Thanks Baz!

Listing the single piece bumpers as such, like some models noted as 3 pieces, is a significant feature for trail durability.

Good idea! Noted under Construction.

Also I added if the company is a FJCruiserForums Supporting Vendor and made that a link to their section of the forum.

I had narrowed my favorites to two, (EXP1 or Demello), then your post and now I like that LOD one the best, maybe, I think. Clean lines, backup lights, tug points, hitch provision. Do you have it? Was it easy to install?

I don't have it (yet :)) but also like it.
One think I do not like about it is that all the weight is going to that pivot with no support on the right end. Was planning if I do go for it to fabricate sort of supporting deck as I saw one member here on the forum did.
It is a little more cost effective...

I would add it but there is like NO info about it on their site besides the price, the 2 photos, and the caption "Upgraded Toyota FJ Rear Bumper"

I can still add it if folks want me to though

I have the original Red Eye & love it. I have bashed the crap out of it even with the better departure angles. I am going to put a hitch into my rear frame. I hit it all of the time when wheeling.

Glad to hear your bumper is put to good use! I like having a trailer hitch so the rocks scrape on that and not the actual bumper haha
