The Scorpion rack is looking awesome buddy, I think the addition of the full size M-Pac on the front is the way to go. The Shotgun Monuting location is Great!...Very nice job, I can't wait to see it in person in a few weeks.
Thanks, Mike. It's a work in progress. I'm looking forward to using it in the field both at the Summit and in an expedition setting. We all have a limited amount of space to store our "stuff". For those of us who find ourselves using the back seat for passengers from time to time, the storage box/sleeping platform isn't practical. This is only an effort to address the problem many of us face.

The Summit can't come too soon for me. Is it time to leave yet?:D

What possible use would I have with an unloaded firearm?

It's always loaded. Every firearm I have is always loaded. And that's not the "hunter's safety - treat every firearm as if it was loaded." Mine actually are. And my knives, axes, arrows and other edged weapons are sharp.:info-smilie:
The Scorpion Rack looks great. Really like that shotgun mount.

Always be prepared!

Reminds me of the famous quote by a Texas Ranger, who when asked if the 1911 pistol he was carrying ****ed and locked and the grip safety tied up with a piece of rawhide was dangerous, replied: "I wouldn't carry the son of a ***** if it wasn't dangerous". :bandit:

I recall that a reporter did a human interest piece on the Texas Rangers a few years ago. The reporter recognized the Colt Model 1911 the Ranger was carrying and asked him "Why do you carry a 45?". The Ranger responded with, "Because they don't make a .46."

As a .45 shooter, the response tickled me. Sort of the same to-the-point thing as the gathering of shouters and marchers -- a single ranger drives up pulling a horse trailer, gets out, pulls the horse out and mounts it.

One of the people there taunted him and said, "Where are the rest of your Rangers?"

The Ranger responds, "One riot, one Ranger.":ninja:

You've gotta love it.

Colin - when seconds count, the cops are just minutes away.

Did you ever get those hinges and the latch that I sent you? Did Canadian Customs slap some sort of duty on them?

A Los Angeles newsman at the scene scandalized the Los Angeles Police Department. The officer said that he fired two rounds at the suspect (returning fire since the suspect was shooting at him). The newsie at the scene counted at least ten bullet holes in the suspect. An obvious police execution. This went on the air.

The newsie didn't ask what sort of weapon was used - 12 gauge shotgun with a magnum load (12 pellets per round).

A few years back, an officer was asked by an incredulous lawyer to explain why he put 13 rounds into the suspect.

"Because there are 12 rounds in the magazine, and one in the chamber," he responded.
In another case the guy on the stand was asked if he "Shot to kill" when he took out a scum-sucking perp.

The guy on the stand said "Sir, I shot to LIVE".

Larry,

Where did you wires come out of the vehicle for the rear lightbar? Did you drill through the roof, or another way? I searched the thread thoroughly, but I could've missed it if you already talked about it. If so, just let me know and I'll keep searching.

Thanks man.

They join in a harness that goes through the roof on the R/R of the vehicle. The wires go forward above the headliner and then down the A-Pillar to the relays and to the auxiliary battery.

You rubber grommet them through the roof, or silicone?

It's a "through hull" style fitting that screws in on either side of the sheet metal (roof), forming a seal. That seal is made waterproof by silicone paste. The wires themselves are sealed in a silicone paste and the the wires are incased in standard wire wrap conduit on both sides of the through-hull fitting.

Tomorrow the Scorpion is getting a new set of rear lower control arms from Icon Vehicle Dynamics. I'm picking them up at the House of DeMello in the morning!

Pictures will follow.:rocker:
