MOST RECENT UPDATE: HERE
STEALTH BOMBER:

In July of 2009 I was looking for a new car. I was going to get a BMW but that changed when the BMW dealership sold the 2006 E90 330 6 speed out from under me when I had given them a verbal commitment, I let them know how I felt and so they brought in a E46 325CI 5 speed coupè. I was going to get that but they had to run it through the CPO and it would not be ready for a week or so. On the week that they were working on the BMW, I looked at my other options because I was still on very rough waters with said dealership so I mosy on to the toyota dealership and I’m looking around at the 4runners and I catch my eye on a 2007 FJ cruiser, I start to walk to it and a very nice SA starts to ask me questions and we start talking about my situation and he did he salesman speech about the FJ with "changing your own oil" etc and I test drove the FJ and I fell in love with it so I took it home over the weekend and guess what happens on the following Monday. I go to the toyota dealership and get the FJ Cruiser. Now it’s December of 2009 and it might seam like the worst time to start modding but I’m going to do it. The mod bug has bitten me, just like the swine flu pandemic. I’m going to take you along with me on my adventure with modding the “Stealth Bomber”.

My design for my FJ has gone through many different changes and it sums up to be a kick-ass FJ that is capable to go anywhere and able to do anything. This is taken into consideration on every purchase.

I laugh at the use of "like" in the above statement. What he meant was "LOVE" with all of the font changes intact.

Congrats, and welcome! You are going to have a helluva time here!

Can't wait to see the Stealth Bomber grow! I would do the 2nd battery first to elimante having to redo all the wiring! Plan it for what you see as add ons (bumper lights, roof lights, cb, etc.)

That was my exact though. I just need to find a good deal on one maybe Larry would be able to make a holiday cheer discount.
Choosing the bumper:
The bumper was probably the first thing on my list and I was really deciding between a Demello and an ARB bumper. I wanted the Demello because of what people had said about him and his company. I was looking at the ARB because of the protection and I live in the Midwest where we are overpopulated with deer. I figured that the ARB would provide enough protection but the only problem is the weight. So with that being said, Demello was running a kick ass holiday special and I snatched a 3 hoop bumper from them for 1005.00 shipped.
-----
So the long wait has ended and I have gotten my 3 Hoop bumper from Demello. It was a long, long, long past week while I waited for it to come but it was worth it.

The bumper came around 2:45 pm and the driver dropped it off by my garage and when I got home and saw it I immediately backed out of my driveway and backed in so I could get the bumper in easier. I then proceed to engage in the battle to get the front bumper off. It wasn't hard getting everything stripped off but getting the bumper off was a bit tedious and boring. I had NO problems until I was taking off the bolts on the reinforcement bar, everything was going well and the nuts were coming off until I got to the top one on the driver side, it decided that it wanted to be a little annoying and when I tried to get it off I rounded it out (part of it was due to bad wrenches) so I loosened the rest of them and drove to a friends house where he helped in the finishing of the install. We got that bolt off no problem with his wrenches (his bite better) and after that, it took more time just unwrapping the bumper than putting it on and putting on the bolts.

so here is the new bumper (I'll go out tomorrow and get a better pic)

After a hard days work, I got some culvers (pic to come later)

Love that front bumper. Only one i would replace the ARB with.
Looking Good! I will keep checking in on your progress
Looks great. Does it drive and differently with the weight up front? You shoulda done a write up with pics on the bumper!

I know, I forgot about it. I just wanted it on. It doesn't drive any different with the weight up front. When they shipped it they said that it was 120lbs but I doubt that it's more than 80.

Juanto- I may have overlooked it, what size shackle did you end up going with? 3/4? 7/8?

I went with the 3/4 (at least I think they are.)from TRDparsts4U. http://www.trdparts4u.com/Scripts/prodView.asp?idproduct=-6464 and they fit snug enough for me not to need a bigger size.
