Hi All:

I bought a new FJ2014, and looking to change the tires for Snow/Mud traction rated.

Default tire factory installed is P265/70R17. Looking fwd to get installed BFG KO2 LT275/70R17 w/o any additional lifting.

The Tires guy at costco Tire shop told me that, if i change the tire size as listed above, i will have to adjust Engine RPM and other settings from Toyota authorized dealer.

Any help with information, will be highly appreciated.

Thanx
MD

You wont need to do anything but maybe have your speedo calibrated. That will be off due to the difference in tire size, and the tire rotating either more or less depending on the size compared to stock. It hasn't ever bothered me. Engine RPM is unaffected. You should be fine just putting the tires on.

X2 - Put the same size tires on a new FJ at 300 miles to replace the crap OEM tires. Not a problem at all. Actually got the speedometer closer to what GPS indicates.
