how exactly is it mounted? i need to figure out how to fly a rebel flag for our football games..
Well the flag itself is made out of a queen sized sheet that i slid onto a 10ft PVC pipe. The PVC pipe is fit over my ball hitch, and then I drilled holes in the PVC pipe towards the top so I could tie it down to to roof rack. At the bottom, I used some excess rope to secure the PVC pipe to the ball-hitch, but it shouldn't come off anyways, as long as you keep the top string tight.

UPDATE:

So today my xterra pal and I had a good car working day. We took off my damage multiplier(grille guard), mounted the lights on the stock bumper, and installed a hood vinyl blackout on both his xterra and my FJ. I also mounted a fire extinguisher and maglight in the back, on the opposite side of the subwoofer, pics to come on those. Anyways, I'm very happy with the way it turned out. He and I are going to start some custom fabrication soon, starting with sliders, that we will hopefully have done by the August 7th Coal Creek trail run! Stay posted!

*Need help with photos. Before, I was taking pictures from my original iPhone, and all photos were under the 1,000KB file limit, now, with the 3GS, my photos are at about 1,200KB, and I can't upload them. I've tried to compress them, but that hasn't worked. My computer is a macbook pro. Can anyone help?

Thanks! Hopefully within the next week or so we will be starting on the sliders. He already bought a welder, today we went out and I bought a real nice angle grinder that we can cut the steel with, as well as grind it, and he is about to purchase the tube bender and dies, just gotta make sure we get the right/best ones.

Let me know how yours goes, i'm interested to see the design. By any chance do you know about the mounting brackets for the front bumper? I've been looking at cowboy's, and it seems that on his the tube mounts to the frame kinda between the tow hooks, but does it mount anywhere else?

Yeah, I have PDFs that another forum member sent me. Just print them out, and them trace onto your steel and cut. cowboy4x4's is also my guide, I think I should get it pretty close. Also, I was thinking to make another one to sell if your interested, keep in mind my plan to build the bumper is not 100% guaranteed. Cause I'm in high school my funds are also pretty limited and I'm quitting my job on monday so they are getting more limited...I just need to go and see how much the steel is gonna cost. Then my uncle has everything I need to fab it up with. We shall see how it all goes...It may just flop. You never can tell lol.

EDIT: I can send you the PDFS for the bumper plates BTW just PM me your email.
EDITx2: And if you have MSN messenger I can help you better because its faster lol.

Just upload them to photobucket, its super easy and you can use bigger file sizes.

UPDATE!: I finally got the pictures to work. Yesterday, my xterra friend, again, and I worked on the FJ a bit more. We trimmed the skidplate because my tires were rubbing on it, and we began working on our branch protection for the windshield, but one of our welds failed so that will have to be redone.

As I stated in the other post, we took off my damage multiplier(grille guard), mounted the lights on the stock bumper, and installed a hood vinyl blackout on both his xterra and my FJ. I also mounted a fire extinguisher and maglight in the back, on the opposite side of the subwoofer. I am very pleased with the way it turned out! Oh, and I also got the spare tire added about a month ago. Here are some of the pictures, I will be adding some of these to my OP.

I'm working on some custom fabrication at the moment. Coming soon will be rock sliders and tree branch guards, basically wires running from the roof rack to the hood, I am making custom mounts for them. I am trying to get both of these done by August 7th for the Windrock run...we will see how much we really get done.

I took the grille guard off for increased approach angle as I use my rig offroad a lot. I really like the RC lift. For the price, it is an amazing lift! I got a deal on mine too, for about $250 i think through a group buy. The rear is really good on the rough country, and the front i'd say is a bit better than stock. I will take some pics tomorrow of the coilovers with spacer and the insides. The CV boot is of course put at more of an angle, but really haven't had any problems.

So I finally got some custom limb risers done. For those of you who don't know what they are, they are basically wires running from the roof rack to mounts from the hood that protect the windshield from branches and stuff. Took a lot of work, very intricate...anyways, here is the pic of them!

next project are custom sliders, we have already ordered all the steel, cut to our dimensions, all that is left is welding and mounting...once all the steel gets here. It should be here wednesday, and the Coal Creek trail run is satruday...sooo its gonna be a busy week!

For the fire extinguisher, I bought an automobile fire extinguisher at Ace Hardware, and it comes with a mount with screw holes. I bought some smaller screws, and basically screwed the mount right into the plastic, took all of 5 minutes.

For the maglight, I bought maglight D-cell mounts at Ace as well. They came with screws, and again, I screwed them right into the plastic on the side and put the maglight in there. That took another 5-10 minutes, just make sure you line them up correctly. They were easy mods, and highly convenient as well!
