This is simple, Tell them they need to recreate the fj40 in retro with new technology, additional horsepower, removable top, folding windshield, with coilover suspension. If that were to happen they would have a phenomenal concept vehicle on thier hands for 2008-2009.

I would buy one if the following things were fixed:

1.) A removable top
2.) Get a real front axle - Go to a solid front axle
3.) Front axle locker
4.) Switch for turning air bags off
5.) Fold down windsheild
6.) At least a 4:1 low range for the TC
7.) integrated roll cage
8.) push botton sway bar disconnect
9.) Removable doors
10.) We basically want a 2008 FJ-40 damn it!

The sad thing is all the above except #4 is available on the Jeep Wrangler right now.
but it does not have the Toyota engine

For some reason Toyota feels the need to take an awesome car and then change it to the point that nobody wants it anymore. I have a 2001 Highlander and love it. I would not take a new one to drive if you gave it to me for free (would sell it though). MWAHAHAHA:rocker:

Toyota probably doesn't want more fj configurations anymore!

Wow, resurgence of the paleo-thread.

I'm sure Toyota is just dying to get more FJC configurations out at this point.

Keep the ideas coming! Toyota is probably anxiously scribbling as we type!

Well we can still dream can't we?

Put me down for either a removable hard top, or a "Sky Slider" type rollback canvas sunroof like the new Jeep Liberty model has.

I agree, that "Sky Slider" roof is rather attractive, and, IMHO, would like quite sharp on a FJ! :bigthumb:
